Luke 14
Verse 12 - This is a passage that gives us insight into giving. We should open our homes to the poor, needy, maimed. We must examine ourselves and ask whether we have something to give.

Verses 16-23 - Following the comment of eating bread in the kingdom of heaven, Jesus followed it up by saying that the wealthy were the people who were searching for excuses not to attend. God wants you to come because you want to come. Ask yourself whether you have the desire to come to God's banquet. What are the riches that keep us from God's banquet?

Matthew 22
Verses 1-14 - This is a wedding feast. The spiritual parallel here is significant. When we are invited to the feast, we are given the wedding garment (righteousness of Christ). God gives us His garment because ours are unworthy.
