Bruce Hempel – Kairos Prison and “The Heart”

A brother in the prison shared how his heart changed from hard to soft. He learned that the scripture is about love, which is a testimony of God’s power.

Matthew 11:25 - Matthew 12
God has hidden things, which is the reason for Jesus sharing in parables. Jesus said that he would give rest to those who are weary. If we look around us, we see many who are working very hard. There are many people who are angry towards the Lord. God deals with those who have hard hearts. Our ministry should be to open and soften hearts.

The real issue was no the law with the Pharisees. The real issue was Jesus. The Pharisees wanted to be Lord, rather than Jesus.

In verse 25, Jesus is trying to deal with the hearts of the Pharisees. The Lord brings us through times when we find ourselves striving against authority. In those times, the Lord is trying to deal with our heart. The Lord wants us to come to Him and surrender our heart. He will give us His yoke, not ours.

Of all the prophets to choose in verse 38, Jesus chose Jonah, a prophet who was known for his submission problems. God wants to change our heart from a hard, self-seeking heart, to a soft heart of love.

Dr. Bill Teubl - The Church in Intercession

Psalm 84:8-9
A church that prays is a church that worships. Closely connected to worship is intercession. We do not just worship the Lord, but we should intercede for one another. This is the season of mercy and grace. We, as the church, must be ready to pray and preach the word.

One of the specific things that intercession is linked to, is prayer for leaders. We must pray for our leaders in their God-given responsibilities. Because we have matured as a church (loving one another and worshiping) we are much more ready for intercession. This is a great ministry that the Lord has given us, we should encourage it.
