James Williams – Communion

It is important to reflect daily. Taking communion as a family throughout the week can be a great blessing. When we take communion we allow a blessing to be poured over us. It is a blessing to share the elements. The bread represents the Lord’s body—pierced and striped. The wine represents Jesus’ blood.

1 Chronicles 28:29

v. 2 - It was on David’s heart to build a temple for the Lord. What is our heart’s desire?

David is full of gratitude for what the Lord has done for him. We should also be full of gratitude towards the Lord for what he has accomplished and promised.

God loves us, even more than we know now. Jesus knew this. Whenever he spoke about God he used, “my father.” Let is sink into your heart that the Lord loves you

v. 7 – seek the Lord. I am going through a period in my life where I am constantly hearing “seek” from the word. We should “seek the Lord while he shall be found.” Jeremiah 29:13 also tells us to seek.

v. 9 – David tells his son to seek the Lord.

Chronicles 29:1 – David calls the temple a palace. Ephesians 2:20

v. 3 – David gave many things to the Lord and then asked the people of Israel what they wanted to give. What do you have to give the Lord? God wants our heart—that is the greatest gift we can offer him.

v. 16 – Everything you have is because God gave it to you. We should give everything “freely and joyfully.” If we fail to give everything freely and joyfully, we are not actually giving him anything.

If you love the Lord with all your heart, he is no slacker—he will not disappoint you. Give you life from gratitude.

There are times in our lives that we can grow weary. If we invest ourselves now, then there will be a harvest over the next 15-20 years.

I am involved in a prayer meeting that has been meeting for 20 years. As we have met and prayed over the years, the struggles have been similar. If we continue to seek the Lord, we will be blessed.

Psalm 90:1 – the Lord hears us.

Two exhortations:
1) We should continue to seek the Lord and we will find him
2) God hears us, and he will answer
