James – Entering into the Lord’s Rest

By reaching a breaking point (a lot of things to pray for and think about) in my life, I can finally enter into his rest.

Hebrews 4:1-7 – Let his word sink in—enter into his rest

Hebrews 9:11-15

Dr. Bill Teubl – Mixing the word and faith

When two patients come into the office with the same issue, it is very helpful in making an assessment and learning. Prophecy is very similar. Many times we will “mix” the word with faith. Prophecy is very similar.

Hebrews 4:1-2 – God has brought the various spiritual and natural gifts together in the body. He has “mixed” them. This concept of mixture is important. There are things NOT to be mixed, but there are things that should be mixed. There are many places (churches and groups) where you can “hang out” and never change. The church should not be a place where we can come and never grow.

If I am restless, we should ask ourselves, “Lord is there something that I do not believe? When the word is comes to me, do I mix it?” A further step is to grow more in mixing the word and faith.

We should learn to ask God for things. Are we forming the habit of asking?

Bruce Hempel-Esther

Esther 4:11-17

Haman was wicked. Satan wanted to destroy the Jews through Haman. This has happened throughout history. We tend to use God's grace. God is calling us to give him everything. If we give

Coming into the king's presence has many parallels with the Christian walk. The New Testament tell us that we should come boldly before the Lord.
The king was pleased when he saw Esther. We should realize that the Lord is pleased when we come into his presence.

1 John 5:13-19

All around us we see those who are in sin. Many times these people are Christians. Sometimes it is simply a trial, not a sin. In any case, we should cry out for these people (saved or not, sinning or in trials).

We do not know the 1000th of the evil in the world. The Lord does not want us to be given over to the overwhelming evil, but we should pray for those the Lord lays on our hearts. God will provide relief, but he wants to incorporate us.

In the natural we have many necessities. These correlate with spiritual things
Natural life:
1) Air <--> Prayer
2) Water
3) Food
4) Exercise <--> Serving the Lord (there are some Christians who are coach potatoes, this should not be the case)
5) Rest <--> "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." Many times we struggle with rest because
6) Sleep (different than rest)
7) Shelter

Once you are born again, you can no longer sin and enjoy it.
